About the course

The rules known collectively as HAZWOPER are specific OSHA requirements written to address situations and activities at RECRA and CERCLA sites not previously covered by federal regulation. These regulations also set forth training requirements for emergency responders.

Training in General:

40-HOUR HAZWOPER INITIAL TRAINING

UNDER SECTION 29CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i)

General site workers (such as equipment operators, general laborers and supervisory personnel ) engaged in hazardous substances removal or other activities which expose or potentially expose workers to hazardous substances and health hazards shall receive a minimum of 40 hours of instruction off the site, and a minimum of three days of actual field experience under the direct supervision of a trained, experienced supervisor.

HAZWOPER EQUIVALENT TRAINING

UNDER SECTION 29CFR 1910.120(e)(9)

Employees who can show by documentation or certification that an employee’s work experience and/or training has resulted in training equivalent to that training required in paragraphs (e)(1) through (e)(4) of this section shall not be required provide the initial training requirements of those paragraphs of such employees. Equivalent training includes any academic training or the training that existing employee might have already received from actual hazardous waste site work experience.

Course Details

This online OSHA HAZWOPER training is broken up into 10 parts. There will be knowledge check quizzes throughout our courses to help keep you on pace which will help you prepare for the final. The training course materials are packed with photos, interactivity, videos, and a wealth of valuable health and safety information in accordance with the standard set by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120.e

How Does Taking Online Training Work? +

How Does Taking Online Training Work?

All our online HAZWOPER courses can be taken from the convenience of your home. Not only do our courses allow you to fulfill requirements at home, but they are also self-paced, meaning they can be completed whenever you want within a year of your purchase.

Do I Still Need On-Site Training?

Yes. OSHA is obvious that initial training can’t be handled entirely online.

Your employer has to supplement this course with the following:

  • Supervised Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) practice with respirators and full protective gear.
  • Site-specific training to familiarize you with the protocols specific to your duties and employer.
  • Three (3) full days of directly supervised fieldwork. The lessons above MUST be separate from supervised fieldwork.

Does This Course Cover the New GHS Communication Standards?

Yes. At the beginning of the course, there is a section devoted to 2013 the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) changes to align with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of chemicals (GHS), which is the universal approach to classifying chemicals and communication of hazard information through labels on chemicals and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

When Does My Course Expire?

Your course will expire one (1) year after you purchase it (the date you submit payment) unless the course itself indicates otherwise.

How Quickly Will I Get My Certificate of Completion?

Once you finish your course and pass any required exams, you can print your certificate of completion right away.

What Can I Do If I Lose My Certificate?

What If I Need a Refund for My Course?

If, for some reason, you are not happy and would like a refund, send us a request within 72 hours of purchase. Here are the eligibility requirements you must meet:

  • Your purchase was made no more than 72 hours before your refund request.
  • You have NOT
    • Attempted any portion of a test or exam.
    • Requested or issued a certificate of completion.
    • Completed 50% or more of the purchased course.
